The Heritage CentreNorth Ayrshire Heritage Friends: Ancestry, Artefacts, Archives and much, much more.

The North Ayrshire Heritage Friends group was established in early 2011 to support the work of the North Ayrshire Heritage Centre, located in Manse Street, Saltcoats, and has the following aims: to enhance understanding of the Heritage of North Ayrshire through research, exploration, investigation, protection & communication.

Monthly meetings of the Friends take place at the Heritage Centre on the second Tuesday of each month. Meetings start at 6.30pm and there is a varied program of events, including presentations from knowledgeable speakers, workshops and members updates. All members receive a Quarterly Newsletter to keep them up to date with the activities of the group and what's going on at the Heritage Centre.

Members also have the chance to get involved in 'hands on' heritage work through the volunteering opportunities available at the Centre. We currently have members involved in sorting, cataloging and archiving parts of the collection and making a contribution the the North Ayrshire Yesterd@ys Flikr site by researching and captioning photos and postcards from North Ayrshires past.

A range of other projects are being developed and members will have many opportunities to get involved in a whole range of heritage activities.
